Feeling Showered

"I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." Ezekiel 34:26

Well, I had my baby shower this weekend, and it was truly the most encouraging event. The hostesess did an incredible job of making it unique and special, including serving drinks in baby bottles, setting out gorgeous flower arrangements, and having a cake that matched my bedding. I was so encouraged with everyone who came, especially my friend, Stephanie, who put her 4 month old baby in the car and drove for 3 hours, just to be there. It's quite an undescribable feeling to have friends, from all walks of life, show up to celebrate this new child with me. While preparing for a baby feels stressful at times, having people surround you with support and excitement makes the journey all the more miraculous.

If you couldn't make it, here are some fun events that took place:

- A baby bet! Some of the attendees chose to be a part of the baby bet, by filling out a card with their B-Kaps predictions (sex? weight? and first initial?) They each donated $1, hoping that their answers would win them the collected cash. We are up to $31, but the bet is still open. Let me know if you want to throw one in! Of all the votes, only 3 people think B-Kaps is a girl...hmmm...something about the way that I am carrying the baby...we may all be shocked in March.

-The dresser! Ashley, my sister in law, wheeled in a fabulous dresser that she hand painted herself, to match my baby bedding! Oooo ahhhh. Martha Stewart, eat your heart out! No doubt, the sweetest gift! Check this thing out. It's so beautiful!! If you are interested in hiring Ashley to do one for you, let me know.
