The Most Fascinating Thing that Finley Does:
Apparently, she enjoys cleaning. Whenever either of us wipe down a surface, she comes running over, begging to be a part of the action. She followed me around the house the other day, wiping up the floor...sure hope this habit lasts! Here is a picture of her cleaning the car with papa. She took this task very seriously. I had to pull her away, kicking and screaming, because it was well passed her bedtime.
The Funniest Thing She Does:
This is difficult to choose because I usually spend the majority of my days laughing. Right now, my favorite thing is that she loves to sing, and she has grown fond of the Rascal Flats' song "I melt." I played that in the car one day and found her belting out the chorus in the back seat, and now she asks for it every time we get into the car. She practically knows all the words to "Twinkle Twinkle little star", although she likes to sing, "I'm a star" instead of "little star." At least she is confident. :)
Her Girly Side:
Ted and I joke about wanting our girl(s) to be tough and sporty, but honestly, I want my kids to be exactly how God created them to be. I have loved seeing signs of Finley's girliness, like when she lights up at the chance to play with a brush. She brushes her hair, her stuffed animals' hair, and my hair. She also loves to grab a bag, or anything that looks similar to a bag, throw it on her shoulder and report that she is "going to the store." I opened up a box of hand me downs the other day. She must have seen me holding up clothes and commenting on how cute they were. Now, she often brings items of clothes to me and says, "so cute!"
The Smartest Thing She Does:
Of course, I think she is brilliant. She knows all of her animal noises...well, at least most of them. Here's a cute video of her doing them:
The Moments That make my Heart Melt:
My heart melts often (If you know me, I'm a melty person). The times that I really cherish are when she walks over to me, pats my belly, and says "baby." She even kisses my belly if I tell her to kiss the baby. I don't think she really understands it (maybe she thinks I've named my stomach), but it is still really sweet. We also say a family prayer each night before she goes to bed. We've been surprised how quickly Fin has adapted this tradition. When we tell her it's time to pray, she plops down on one of our laps, and holds our hands. She even said her own prayer the other day, "And Keepaw, Nonnie, Pappou, Momma.....amen."
I'm sure only my mom, and possibly Ted's mom read this entire entry, but that's ok. It's enjoyable to me to observe and record these tiny milestones, because they come and go so fast.
