We went to the pre-race party in the downtown area on Sunday night, where everyone brought their most interesting bikes. Ted was so excited to ride this three wheeler made for adults.

I have always wanted to go with Ted to the Tour de France. He LOVES cycling. When we were dating, he rode about 4-5 days/wk. including an 80 mile ride on Saturdays. The boy was just bone and muscle. With a lot of hard work, he honestly could have gone pro. He had the heart, the passion, and the discipline to make it, but he knew it wasn't the lifestyle that he wanted long-term. He LOVES watching the Tour de France, I think mainly because he lives vicariously through the riders. He enjoys it because he knows the amount of sweat, strategy, and skill that is involved in spinning those little pedals, and he knows how indescribably rewarding it is to finish. I've always wanted to stand next to him while he sees the action face to face. I just knew it would feed his soul. So, you can imagine how excited we both were when we found out that the tour was coming to us! The USA Pro Cyclying challenge brought all of Ted's legends into our neighborhood. We walked only a mile to stand at the starting line of the race. It was amazing!
