A Party for Pinky

Finley and I were checking out at Hobby Lobby, when she spied this weird little big eyed pink poodle. Of course she begged me for it, and I gave in.  She pointed out to me that there was a name and birth date on the tag.  "That's fun!"  I said, "maybe we can throw a party for her."  As soon as the words left my mouth, I wanted to retract them. The birthday was three weeks away.  I was really hoping she would just forget.  When we got home from the store, she discovered the calendar on my ipad, and quickly figured out what day was Pinky's birthday, and that's when she started the countdown.  Every morning she reported to me how many days until the party. Apparently, she was not going to forget.  On the day of the "party", Finley bounded out of her room, proclaiming that it was Pinky's birthday.  I realized that I had no other option, but to make that day special.  So, she and I made some decorations to hang while Pinky was "asleep."  Then, she invited all of her friends at school.  Luckily, only one could come.  We all made a cake for Pinky, lighted the candles and sung. It was worth it for the baking fun, and this chocolate cake was yummy.  As you can see, we ate half of it before Pinky even got a chance to blow out the candles.

That night, I tucked Finley into bed and she said, "mom, tomorrow is Koala's birthday."

Aren't they cool? I found them at the grocery store. They were left over from Ryder's b-day.
