This week, Ted and I have spent a lot of time discussing how much we admire his papa. Of course, we often take people for granted until their lives are being threatened. Ted's papa had a heart-attack a couple of nights ago. He was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors and nurses labored to release him of pain. They successfully added a second stent to an artery in his heart, and gave him a chance to keep living. It was a frightening scenario for all of us, but we are so thankful that it ended well. We are definitely not ready to lose him, especially with grandchildren on their way. We are praying that our children will have a chance to know him, to experience his selfless devotion and humble demeanour. He's a very special papa, one of those people that you feel blessed to know. Ted told me yesterday that he wants our kids to call him "papa." "Because if I could be half the dad that he was to me, than I would feel like a success." Papa, we love you! And are so thankful for the time that we have left!

Hi Carissa,
We've never met, but my husband Peter and I are very close frieds of Karl and Carol, enjoy seeing Mary Jo and Bill when they come to Champaign and are lucky enough to have spent Christmas Eve with Bill and Mary Jo and three of the four Musters.
We have been following your baby news via Mary Jo and Bill and gave them a bottle of champagne to open when they get the much awaited news from you and Ted.
Carol and Karl are so excited to become a great aunt and uncle, too!
Needless to say, we are so relieved that Bill is doign well and hated it that he had such a scare and tough way to start 2008. He is so looking forward to being a grandfather and I know he feels very blessed to have recovered so well.
Good luck these last few weeks. They will probably seem like they last forever, particularly the last two weeks of pregnancy when you are so uncomfortable and tired of dragging that baby around. (I am a former OB nurse and had my first baby 37 years ago.)
Best Wishes,
Susan Feuille "Foy"
Susan, thanks for writing! I hope to meet you soon! You're right, these last few weeks are sure dragging along...just so excited to meet this little person, we can hardly wait! It is truly one of the sweetest things I have ever experienced. I was encouraged by your note! Thanks!!
