Glacier Bound

Day Five of Montana Trip: Ted and I slept in this morning, desperate for the rest. We got up, went for a run, and ended at a small breakfast shack. This morning with my hubby was precious. We talked and laughed as we filled up on blueberry muffins and fresh fruit. The drive to Glacier was also beautiful…have I said that word enough?? Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. We pulled up to the Izaak Walton Hotel in Glacier National Park. This is an old hotel that was used to house the people that worked on the railways. There are 4 tracks that run right along side the hotels and trains go by about every 4 hours. The hotel tradition is to gather a group of people on the back porch and wave at the train as it goes by. It is a very simple place. There is no a.c., which was a little scary, but the Montana temperature drops significantly at night. Our room was about 11’x11’, including the bathroom. The room looked a little like you would imagine a room looking in the “Little house on the Prairie”…wood paneling, white ruffly window curtains, simple wood furniture. I loved this place because everything about it was simple!
