AHHHH!

Day Two of Montana Trip:

“Walking around here like this, I have the feeling that this world of ours must be all right.” Henri J.M. Nouwen

First day in Missoula and it didn’t disappoint. The guys left early for their fly fishing excursion while Mary Jo and I got ready for a hike. We hiked up a well marked trial and found ourselves surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The weather was perfect, around 85 but breezy. Mary Jo did a great job! The thing that I love about Ted’s mom is that she is adventurous. Who would have thought that I would be able to hike up a mountain with my mother in law? Her legs put my 30 year old limbs to shame. That afternoon, we went to the spa and enjoyed a 90 minute massage…ahhhh!!

Missoula is the perfect town for me and Ted. It is a small town situated in the middle of a beautiful range of mountains. Everyone rides bikes…not just for recreation, but for transportation. The town is small and everything is in riding distance. The girls even ride in cute flowing skirts. It’s a hippy town. Everyone wears shorts and t-shirts. Girls might wear a cute skirt, but only with a target tank and flip flops. Nobody’s trying to be like someone else, or have some special title. They just like to be outside, in God’s great world, eating ice cream. The people are also really friendly, probably because they have all of the time in the world. Everywhere you go, people talk to you. And the conversation is usually ended with, “isn’t it amazing?” People are just happy to be there…can’t blame em.
