Sloan Bone

This one turned 4 today, and in keeping with the birthday tradition, we taped streamers across her bedroom door. I heard her yell out this morning, "Somebody! Somebody!" I ran downstairs to find her standing behind her streamers. "Mom! I want to get out, eat food, and LIVE!" My other kids have broken right through the streamers without hesitation, but Sloan thought that she was imprisoned.

I love this little girl and every comment that comes out of her mouth. Grammy and Papou are staying with us this week.  She asked each of them how old they are. Papou said "84" and Grammy said "74." She welled up in delight and said, "That means we'll ALL be 4!!!"

She started Awana this year in the cubbie program for preschool kids. It's unbelievably cute to see her memorizing scripture and songs. She feels so big and capable. The first night when I picked her up she ran up to me and yelled, "mom, they gave me this book and it turned into MINE!"

She prays each night, and I so wish I could place a hidden camera in her room to capture these sweet moments she has with God.  I just envision God turning His ear in pure delight over what she has to say to Him. It's usually about Anjali, her best friend, that she would "enjoy her life," or requesting that she might get bubble gum soon. One night, she thanked God that we have beds to sleep in. Just precious.

She just infuses JOY and love into our home! She tells me every day that I'm a "good mama," has THE BEST hugs especially first thing in the morning, and has the sweetest demeanor toward her sibs. Praising God today for this little gift that He gave us!
